Q. What is a Health Care Advisor?

A: A Health Care Advisor is a trained health care professional (nurse, physician, pharmacist) with extensive experience with today's health care system. They can offer advice on a wide range of medical problems - steering you to the best sources of diagnosis and treatment - and helping arrange your medical appointments.

Q. What is a Health Care Advocate?

A: Health Care Advocates may also be health care professionals or medical benefits professionals who assist you when you have problems with the business side of today's health care system. A claim may be denied, an insurance company might demand additional payment, or a health institution might tell you "you're not covered". Health Care Advocates understand the ins/outs of today's health care system - and WILL stand up for your rights.

Q. What exactly is a Personal Health Care Concierge Program?

A: : Health Champion's Personal Health Care Concierge programs provide you and your family with an experienced personal health care advocate. This advocate, someone experienced in the health care business, such as a nurse, can assist you and your family to manage your health care needs whether for a specific event or for a specific period of time. Health Champion understands health care and can navigate the system on your behalf. We can do what is necessary to arrange and manage all aspects of your administrative and clinically related health care needs, except for being the patient!

What are some services included in your Personal Health Care Concierge option?

A: The Personal Health Care Concierge service can be customized to meet the needs of our clients. As part of our Personal Health Care Concierge option, Health Champion can:

  • Identify preventative services that you need
  • Assist with scheduling physician appointments
  • Review all claims to ensure they were paid per your benefit plan
  • Submit receipts to Flexible Spending Accounts (FSAs) or Health Savings Accounts (HSAs) administrators
  • Arrange for mail order pharmacy as appropriate
  • Review prescriptions to determine if less costly drugs are available
  • Answer questions and provide assistance in resolving complex claims issues
  • Assist with elder care issues, such as choosing which Medicare program best meets their needs, and/or assisting with researching elder care home health options in a particular location;

Q: Can Health Champion help me select a benefits plan, like a PPO or Medicare Part D?

A: Yes, Health Champion can help you and your family members select benefits plans offered through your employer or through individual insurance. We make sure you understand what's being offered and select the plan that works best for you and your family.

Q: My doctor says I need to have surgery, but I'd like a second opinion. Can Health Champion help me?

A: Yes, Health Champion can assist by finding health care providers in your plan and scheduling second opinion consultations for you.

Q: I'm overwhelmed with the amount of paperwork and authorizations needed for my wife who has been diagnosed with breast cancer. How can Health Champion help?

A: Health Champion will sift through all the complex paperwork and medical authorization requirements to ensure you understand what information your health care provider and insurance company need. We'll even work directly with you provider and/or insurance company to make sure information is received in a timely manner, and health care isn't delayed because of paperwork.

Q: I recently learned that my son's medical treatments were not covered by my insurance company. Can you help?

A: Yes, Health Champion will work directly with your insurance company to understand why your claim was denied and determine if there were filing errors. We'll even help you file a claim appeal if you feel your services were wrongly denied. We can also work directly with your provider's billing department to discuss your claim.

Q: Will Health Champion help me schedule appointments with my health care providers?

A: Yes, with Health Champion's Personal Health Care Concierge Service, you get a resource to schedule routine doctor visits, specialty appointments, hospital visits and more.

Q: I have a Health Savings Account plan that requires the submittal of receipts for services rendered. How can Health Champion help?

A: Health Champion's Personal Health Care Concierge Service will take on the burden of submitting health care receipts to your insurance company to ensure you get reimbursed quickly. We'll also follow up with your health plan if reimbursements are late.

Q. What are my purchasing options for Personal Health Care Concierge Services?

A. We have flexible purchasing options for our Personal Health Care Concierge services. Based on your unique situation, you may purchase our services on a retained basis, where you pay a fee each month for a variety of services. Or, you may pay per specific services. Whichever you prefer, we can customize a payment plan that meets your needs.

Q: As an employer, I am considering offering Health Champion Services to my staff. What are the benefits?

A: Health Champion offers your employees and their immediate family members a health care liaison who is in their corner for all their health care needs. We are not a replacement for the health plan, but rather a safety net for your employees and their family members. We serve as their liaison to make sure they are using their health plan wisely, maximizing the benefits you provide on their behalf. As your employees' health champion, we take the stress and hassle of dealing with the health care system off of their minds, freeing them to focus on being productive and engaged employees in the workplace.

Q: I'm interested in Health Champion for my employees. How do I implement your services?

A: Health Champion can work with you to design a program that best meets the needs of you and your workforce. Simply contact us and we'll arrange an initial consultation to learn more about your business and goals. It's that easy!

Q: How much does Health Champion's services cost for employers?

A: While we have two main packages to offer our customers, the Core and Premier, we realize that one size doesn't fit all. After an initial consultation with you, we'll be able to determine the services that work best for your company and price a package accordingly.

Q: How long does it take to implement an employee advocate program?

A: We realize how important a quick and seamless implementation is for your business. On average, it takes 30 days to implement our services; however, each business's implementation timeframe is different, based on their unique needs and requirements. We also provide a variety of communication tools to assist you in educating your staff about Health Champion.

Q: How can Health Champion positively impact my bottom line?

A: By answering your employees' questions and concerns about health care, you get a more productive and focused employee while at work. We can make calls to physicians, billing agencies, and offer other benefits support so employees don't have to take that burden on their shoulders.
